HUMA1921 Philosophy of Science 
Teaching Assistant

This course aims to provide students with a science background a solid grasp on major topics in general philosophy of science. In the first half of the course we cover the historical developments of philosophy of science before the 1970s, from Russell (the Cambridge School) and the logical empiricists to Popper, Kuhn, Lakatos... In the second half, we covers classic topics such as scientific explanation, confirmation, understanding to more recent topics such as scientific progress and social knowing in science.
